with this kind of software i'll be able to create a multi executable file with all the drivers and utilitary software i need after installing a fresh windows on a computer (ex: drivers, winamp, office, nero, players, etc).. without needing to click always on NEXT NEXT ALLOW, ETC

McAfee charges credit card

Wed, 2010-03-10 15:00 by Brigham · Forum/category:

I have just received an e-mail telling me that McAfee have taken money from my visa card to pay for renewal of their antivirus program. I had uninstalled it several months ago, and didn't know that I had to contact them to stop them renewing it automatically. I don't know if this is common knowledge, but if it isn't I thought your readers might like to know about it.

BitDefender

Fri, 2010-02-19 14:37 by Brigham · Forum/category:

I am using xp home edition SP3. I have an icon that has appeared on the task bar of web sites I am using. I contacted the BitDefender web site and tried to send them an e-mail. They want to know a code number before the e-mail can be sent. I am unable to do this as BitDefender does not appear on the "all programs" list, or in the control panel " add or remove list. It does not appear on the search facility of the computer. Can you help please?

error message

For the last few weeks I've regularly had an error message appearing on my desktop. It says " Username and password do not match. You provided (my gmail address). Please enter your full email address (including @domain.com)". This has been appearing since I read about a weakness on gmail that allows multiple password attempts and beefed up my password. Does it mean someone is trying to hack my gmail account?

Uninstalling Norton Created Network Problems

Mon, 2009-08-10 00:20 by winexp · Forum/category:

I use WinXP home version, which came with a free norton antivirus 360 trial. After the trial ended, the continual popups from norton "reminding" me to buy their product prompted me to uninstall the norton program.

After a (so-called) successful uninstall, using the uninstall feature from the control panel, my network connection does not work. Any browser i try does not connect, Itunes music store, nothing. The most frustrating part is that windows does not detect any problem, and in control panel the network is shown to be connected. But no programs needing the connection work!

java problem

When installing Java V.6 Update 15 the installation stopped and reported Error 25099 unzipping core files failed. When I looked up the error on the Java site it suggested a workaround involving deleting the jqs.exe process. However that process is not running on my system.

I tried to install older updates but they all failed with the error message "internal error 2753 regutils.dll" until I got to update 7, which installed successfully. When I looked up the error message on the Java site, it couldn't find it.

Free antivirus software recommendations

Thu, 2009-01-22 23:13 by admin · Forum/category:

Here are three recommendations.

  • Free Avira AntiVir – a nice program, apart from some self-advertisements.
  • Panda Cloud Antivirus – a new contender, which seems to be unobtrusive, very simple to use, and well-working.
  • AVG Free – but do not install or activate their LinkScanner function. The program tends to be overbearing and intrusive.

I have an XPS M2010 runiing Windows XP Pro, Service Pack 3.

Security wise, I have Windows Firewall, Zone Alarm Security Suite and Force Field.

Working with Adobe LiveCycle Designer

Thu, 2008-11-06 14:28 by admin · Forum/category:

Introduction

I've been working with Adobe LiveCycle Designer ES 8.2 for a while, designing forms that end users can fill-in on their computer screen and then email back to the company or administration at the click of a button.

My general impression is good. LiveCycle Designer is an impressive and extensive tool that is mostly up for the job.
